Arm and Hammer Essentials Cat Litter
20 Jul 2009
I’m always on the lookout for better pet products. When you have seven litter boxes to clean every day, cat litter is pretty important. Last week I made a new discovery.
I was strolling through the pet aisles at Wal-Mart and saw a new cat litter product; Arm and Hammer Essentials. It boasts that you only need to use 1/2 the amount of regular clay litter, and since the 10 1/2 pound bag was only $8.40, I thought “”what the heck, I’ll give it a try.”"
Essentials litter is made from corn fibers, so it’s biodegradable. It does have a mild fragrance, although I couldn’t find anything on the packaging that indicates what they use to scent the litter.
The litter seems to “fluff up” when you put it in the litter box, so I was able to fill all the boxes and still have a bit left over in the bag.
The really nice thing was, the next morning, I didn’t go into a cat room with an overpowering smell alerting me that the litter boxes needed cleaning.
This stuff really does clump well, and in the process, it doesn’t take half the litter in the box, so it truly does last longer.
The biodegradable factor is really nice too. When you have this many cats and litter boxes, you are very aware of the impact on the environment when you carry out your trash weighted down with used clay litter.
Oh, and most important, the cats don’t have a problem with the new litter either!
In short, I give Arm and Hammer Essentials Cat Litter five paws and recommend it for your own kitties. You can get a coupon by going to the Arm and Hammer website. Here’s the link to the coupon page.
